# About ShipOrDie.lol

> Public accountability for indie makers. A public countdown, a number big enough to hurt, and a leaderboard of people who keep their word.

ShipOrDie.lol is not a to-do app and not a social network. It is a weekly shipping league with a stake you cannot quietly delete. You commit to ship a product by a date and you put real money on that date. Friends can dare you onto the board. That is an invite, not a bet.

If you ship, you get the stake back minus a 6% cut, a permanent On-Time Shipper badge, and a slice of the week's prize pool. If you miss, the money is gone — it funds the people who actually shipped.

## Who it is for

Indie makers, vibe-coders, and solo founders who want public accountability. If a calendar reminder is enough, this product is not for you.

## Who it is not for

Agencies hiding behind a client, spam launches, adult or invite-link junk, or anyone who wants a private maybe-deadline. Shorteners, chat invites, and adult links are blocked. Admins can remove junk.

## Money

Stakes are $25–$2000 USD, paid in full through Stripe Checkout (cards only). The board does not show a commitment until Stripe confirms payment. Failed stakes from the previous week are split every Monday (weighted by original stake).

## FAQ

### What is ShipOrDie.lol?

ShipOrDie.lol is a weekly public shipping league for indie makers. You put real money on a ship date. If you ship on time you get most of the stake back, an On-Time Shipper badge, and a share of that week's prize pool. If you miss, the full stake funds people who actually shipped. Friends can dare you onto the board. That is an invite, not a bet.

### Who is ShipOrDie for?

Solo founders, vibe-coders, and indie makers who want a public deadline with real money on the line. It is not a freelance marketplace, not a launch calendar, and not a paper-promise tracker.

### How much can I stake?

Stakes are $25–$2000 in whole US dollars, paid in full up front through Stripe Checkout. Cards only. Nothing is public until Stripe confirms payment.

### How long is the ship window?

The target date must be 2–21 days from now. The deadline is the end of that UTC day. You may have only one active commitment at a time.

### What happens if I ship on time?

The stake is refunded minus a 6% platform fee. You get a permanent On-Time Shipper badge and a slice of that week's prize pool.

### What happens if I miss the ship date?

The full stake goes into the weekly prize pool and your on-time streak dies. There is no partial credit after the UTC deadline.

### How does the weekly prize pool work?

Every Monday, the previous week's failed stakes are split among that week's uncontested successful shippers (weighted by original stake). 3 reports hold a ship out of the split until an admin reviews it.

### What proof do I need to submit?

A live public https URL, submitted after the stake has been live for 24 hours and on or before the UTC deadline. We fetch the page: parked, empty, or error responses do not count. Repos, social posts, localhost, and recycled URLs do not count. Loom or GitHub is required at $250+ and when the live URL matches your placeholder. Those extra-proof ships go to human review before any refund. Community Report fake still applies.

### When does a paid stake appear on the board?

After Stripe confirms payment, the stake sits in a 10-minute cool-off. The founder can open it immediately. Strangers, the public book, sitemap, and X posts wait until cool-off ends.

### When do I get the refund?

Small stakes queue the remainder (stake minus the 6% fee) for 24 hours after accepted proof. 3 reports hold the refund and the prize-pool share until an admin reviews. High-stake and placeholder-match proof waits for human review; an approved review refunds immediately.

### How do prize-pool payouts actually pay me?

Monday records your share on the ledger immediately. Cash leaves only after you connect a Stripe recipient account on /payouts that can receive transfers. Until then the share waits. We email you when it pays or when it is waiting.

### Will you remind me before the deadline?

Yes, if magic-link email is configured. The daily job emails you when proof unlocks after 24 hours on the board, and again when the UTC deadline is within 24 hours. The public countdown is the source of truth — the email is a backup, not extra time.

### Can I restake a product I already shipped?

No. You cannot restake a product you already shipped. Founders cannot cheer, watch, or report themselves. Admins can remove junk and reverse fake outcomes.

### Can I dare someone onto the board?

Yes. A dare is a shareable /commit?dare= link that prefills a product, date, and suggested stake. They pay their own stake through Stripe. You do not receive their money if they miss.

### Is a dare a bet?

No. A dare is an invitation to enter the same product. Prize-pool shares go only to that week's uncontested on-time shippers, never to the person who sent the dare. We are not a gambling operator.

### Can I watch a stake without staking?

Yes, if you are signed in. Watch emails you when that stake ships, misses, or goes to review. Watchers also get the weekly recap for stakes they followed. You cannot watch your own stake.

### Can I buy a board insert?

Yes. There are 3 paid notices on the public book at $199 for 7 days. You pay through Stripe Checkout. The insert is labeled Paid notice so it is never confused with a stake. One live insert per account. Public https destinations only.
