You pay the full stake up front through Stripe Checkout (cards, USD). The board does not see the commitment until Stripe says it is paid. Hit the UTC deadline with a live public URL and most of the money comes back (minus 6%). Miss it and the stake funds makers who shipped.

A `/commit?dare=` link is an invite to this form, not a bet. The invited maker pays their own stake. The person who sent the dare does not win if they miss.
